Berlin Quarterly - Issue 11 2019
Berlin Quarterly is a European review of long form journalism, literature and the Arts. It's a new cultural journal with global perspective that combines in-depth reportage, literature and beautiful visual content.
In this issue, Heather Cleary translates Roque Larraquy in "A Report on Animal Ectoplasm", you'll find Claudia Durastanti's portrait of her relationship with her deaf mother, tenderly exploring their separate and communal interactions with music. The archive section boasts a series of colourful infographics about the advancement of African Americans, originally presented by WEB de Bois at the 1900 World's Fair. These images, contextualised by an in-depth introduction, explored and combatted the narratives of black life in post-slavery America.
